Our program is designed with the rider in mind. We customized to each rider's abilities, experience and objectives.  All age groups are encouraged to pursue their interests in horsemanship

First time adult and children rides are welcome to enjoy a supportive and relaxed learning environment.
We believe that there are three basic parts to becoming a great rider ...

Horsemanship
 
                        
Knowing about horses

Barn Safety - this is a top priority
Terminology - learning the lingo
Grooming - how to keep the horse looking and feeling good
Breeds and Colors - different kinds and various colors they come in
Conformation and Anatomy - parts of the horse, and how they move
Various Riding Disciplines - different things to do with horses
Handling - leading, approaching, and working around horses
Feeding - how to keep horses healthy and strong
Medical Care - what you can do, and when a veterinarian is needed

Tack
Understanding the types of equipment
Saddles, bridles, bits, and more
Tacking up - How to put everything on the horse
The different parts of the equipment
Various types of equipment, and their uses


Basic Riding Skills
Learning how to tell the horse what to do
Mounting and Dismounting - how to get on and off of the horse
How to ask the horse to start, stop, and steer
Rider’s Position - how you sit makes a big difference
Different gaits  - the speed and ways that the horse moves
Walk, Trot, and Canter
     How to use and maintain each gait
     How to change gaits
Jumping - the fundamentals, preparing to jump
English or Western - different saddles, different styles
Games and Obstacles - lots of fun and builds skills, too
Bareback riding - brings you closer to the horse, just for the fun of it

We pride ourselves in combining all of these skills in our program to create the best possible riding experience.  Our lessons are tailored to each students ability and as they acquire more skills they can progress through our four levels of achievements.

Rates
 $45.00 per hour
Lessons are scheduled in consecutive 6-week blocks. 
Down payment of 50% of the eight lessons, and then the balance of each single lesson is to be paid upon each scheduled lesson.
